Interesting times, these.  I speak about this from the viewpoint of an actor/entertainer. These are the times when you have to take a look at what is really going on in our industry.

Uninvited Leading Lady

Nashville, 1973…I think.  There was a big article in the Nashville Banner about a major Hollywood studio coming to film a story about real Country singers and The Grand Ol’ Opry.  Not only that, but it would star Burt Reynolds and he needed a leading lady. This was the stuff that movies were made of…for real.

A REALLY Happy New Year

Posted in Bronson Page, Conny Van Dyke, Family, Holidays, In-Laws, Love, Mother, Sam Page, son-in-law, Sons, Uncategorized on December 7, 2008 by Lovesick Billy

When I woke this morning                           bron-sam-and-me

I was not really sure

What I would be doing

or what I would endure

There was much to do

And three of us to do it

All I knew for real, for sure

Was that we three would get through it.

The house was cleaned

We found the decorations

We’d planned the food and timeline

Stocked some fab libations

Beneath all this, life was real

It had the warmth

And had the feel

We talked and laughed

And even cried

We came closer together                                    file0002

And hadn’t even tried

We changed our gear

To forge ahead

Any negative became

Positive instead

It’s going to be

a different year

We have a grip

The road is clear

I’ll share in them

They’ll share in me                       photo_091507_003-1

What a better year

It’s bound to be

We had the love

All along

But, now together,

It’s three-times strong

Another thing that I have to say                          sam-and-me

Is life is better than even yesterday

Nothing to fear

No great confusion

Abundance is ours

In splendid profusion

Now I know

We are three to do it

And whatever comes

We three will get through it.

Happy Chanuka,                                  three

Happy Kwanza,

Merry Christmas,

It’s such a shonda

That every family everywhere

Cannot know the joy that we share

Every father, mother, sister, brother

Son and daughter and any other

Hug the ones so close to you                          la-group-sams-34th-crpt

That’s the important thing to do

Before you know it,

And in not very long,

You’ll find it impossible

To not get along.

You’ll discover the hearts

That beat like yours

The tears are the same

The games and the chores

With that said

All that’s left to say                                     conny-cheers-sepia

Is make each day

Your Holiday.

I send my love to each and every person I know and don’t know…

and that’s not just some more…tales from a broad!

XOXO CVD

Home for the Holidays

I am all moved in to The Page House. Bronson and Sam have done absolutely everything possible to make me the happiest mom on earth.  I have a fabulous bedroom and run of the house; afterall, I am part of the family.

I have all my clothes, art, pictures, books, shoes and cat.  Hmmmm.  What am I missing? Oh, yeah, my mind. I had no idea that it would take longer than a couple of weekends to collect the splinters of me and move them in.

That’s okay…Bronson and Sam are pretty patient guys.  The understanding helps, too. (Did I mention that they are loving and caring? Sounds like a plug for Boy Scouts.)

I look forward to our Holiday Gathering coming up, when we will have a lot of our favorite folk here to toast the Holidays.

Now, all I have to do is stop “visiting” and start “being”. It is a little more complicated than I anticipated.  I just have to stop hissing and pissing on areas to mark my territory.  OMFG! I sound like a lady with 50 cats! (I only have Burbank the Cat…and now, her step-brothers, Churchill and Max.)

I planned to have a few more pictures included in this, but I can’t find my camera.  Oh well, I’ll just have to include them in some other…tales from abroad.

Cold Case Reprise

Once again I have discovered that it is not what I am doing in acting/singing/performing that is the important thing in my life; it is that my family is with me “in it”!

Conny, “Cold Case” and a Nice Chianti!

Posted in Bronson Page, Conny Van Dyke, Family, Mother, murder, sailor, Sam Page, work with tags , , , , , on October 22, 2008 by Lovesick Billy

Much love and thanks

to Kathryn Morris and

John Finn of “Cold Case”!

If your dance card is not all full for

this coming weekend, I hope that you

will watch the 2nd episode of the new

season of “COLD CASE”… Sunday, October 26,

9PM…CBS! It is called,”Shore Leave” and…this is

my TV re-debut! I haven’t worked in television for many years,so it is a real thrill that my “get-back” gig is one of the classiest and smartest shows there is. And if you do not have a nice Chianti to sip during the show..I totally back vodka.

Kathryn is talented, gorgeous, warm…and she laughs at my jokes! John is smooth, handsome, a real professional…and he hugs good! There is not a clinker in the bunch when it comes to cast and crew; even the read-through was aces! And the audition? What can I say? It was like meeting friends for a chat.  Damn, I’m lucky!
